Our Learning Legends are legends at Laurencekirk School. They choose their group name and are very proud of the work they do in school. They have been involved in sharing learning hints and tips at assemblies.
Our legends felt there was a need for consistency in the tools being used in each classroom to support learning. They met as a group with a member of our Additional Support for Learning team to discuss which tools would be supportive for learning (coloured overlays, talking tins, pencil grips, timers, number squares etc). They then consulted with the whole school (staff and children) through a Dotmocracy activity to find out what our staff and children felt were important tools to support learning. Once we established what tools were required to support learning we invested in kits for every learning space through our PEF funding. Our legends then presented these at assembly and shared how to use this effectively in learning.
